Westcountry Game Fair 2011

The Westcountry Game & Equine Festival is amongst the first of the great regional game fairs in the calendar and is set to return on Saturday 12th & Sunday 13th March 2011 at the Bath and West Showground, Shepton Mallet. This long established event, regularly attended by over 20,000 visitors, allows those with a passion for rural life to come together in celebration of this special and diverse lifestyle. This year, not only will there be the addition of an equestrian arena featuring top named riders, stallion parades and more but the show will also include Smallholders South West (supported by Somerset Smallholders). This part of the show will feature lectures, alpacas, pigs, sheep, local produce and more.
From fishing to shooting and traditional crafts, right through to delicious locally produced food, the show will undoubtedly offer something which appeals to everyone, both young and old.

- On-site Clay Shoot with Clay Shooting R’ Us
- British Association for Shooting and Conservation (BASC) Shooting School
- BASC Air Rifle coaching
- BASC Gundog Scurries
- Terrier & Lurcher Shows
- Fly-casting demonstrations and coaching with Charles Jardine
- Archery
- Falconry with Terry Large
- Racing Ferrets
- Vintage tractors & machinery
- Game Cookery Theatre, hosting expert chefs who will demonstrate how to prepare delicious meals from traditional game meats
With a wonderful mix of have-a-go activities, including Xtreme Off-Road 4 x 4 driving, fascinating demonstrations and educational insight, this event is the perfect opportunity to fulfil and expand any countryside interest you may have.
The Westcountry Game Fair also hosts a countryside shopping village with over 250 countryside & equestrian companies, great show offers to be had on guns, shooting accessories, fishing equipment, gifts, clothing, paintings and prints, food and much more.
